The information requested on the form assists Model Scenery and Structure in determining the necessary drawings. Once we establish the scope of work and estimate the time required to design and draw the plans, a quote for the project may be prepared.

The form is designed to prompt your thinking, so if you have any ideas that are not included on the Layout Planning Form, please add them in. There are multiple sections in the form where additional information can be recorded. If you have a plan or sketch of your ideal model railroad, please send a copy. Similarly, submit any articles, photos, or drawings that might be relevant for planning the layout. Providing more information will assist us in creating a layout design that meets your expectations.

If you are uncertain about what you want or do not have specific ideas for the perfect layout but desire a well-designed model railroad, we can create an excellent set of plans for you. Please inform us about the space available for the layout and your rough budget for the layout.

While completing the form, you may pause at any time. Navigate to the bottom of the form and select Save and Resume Later. A link will be provided allowing you to return to your Layout Planning Form when you are ready to continue. Be sure you save this link to access the form again.

Once the form is completed, click the SUBMIT button at the bottom. Your information will be sent directly to Model Scenery and Structure for prompt review. You will receive a response within a few days.

Although a little tedious, the effort here will result in the railway that operates and looks just the way you want. BASIC TRACK PLAN

The Basic Track Plan will include the track, turnouts, roadbed, track elevations, bridge and tunnel locations and a material list. Additions to the basic plan can be almost anything including structures, roadways, bridges and tunnel details, water features, landscaping, hills and mountains. Select elements to be incorporated in the design of your layout.
